Millstone, founded in December 2004, was created to offer protection, support and treatment to the many exploited children in the “Third World” nations. Millstone is an outreach to the poverty stricken nation of Africa (initially concentrating on the region of Ghana).  It's purpose is to offer emergency care/therapeutic treatment facilities where victims are integrated into curative care blended with traditional family values of the nation served. Children are removed from dangerous situations and received intense treatment, nurture and support as they are adapted into a safe non-judgmental family setting. To help accomplish our mission of  “shifting the world's at-risk children from danger to destiny,” 

Millstone has established  a three-fold vision:
Victim Prevention – educating the community and influencing local government to strengthen legislation protecting at-risk children from exploitation while bringing exposure, stiffer penalties and conviction to perpetrators.
Victim Relief – immediate relief of abuse (prostitution, slavery, pornography,trafficking and ritualistic practices) and/or atrocities being committed to children from the womb to 18 years old.a
Victim Aftercare  – where victims of exploitations can receive intense (physical and mental) treatment often associated with abuse to holistically prepare them for a successful life.

Here at Millstone, we strive to be a part of the solution of rescuing the at-risk children so they can reach their full potential. Our philosophy includes self-worth, establishing healthy relationships with caring people, providing volunteer services,  creating educational opportunities that will not only break negative cycles, but create positive alternative for children to help them plan for a better future. These programs are designed to rescue children who are imprisoned to a failing system.

As compassionate human beings, we can no longer look the other way. We have got to stand up for the rights of these children and give them back their lives. Statistics prove that the behavior of a child can change after just two weeks of positive therapeutic treatment (www.irinnews.org).

Responding to the needs of exploited, orphaned and street children in third world nations, Millstone was created to provide a healing and nurturing environment to children and families. The agencies principle purpose is to provide preventive, rehabilitative and specialized services through which local communities can meet the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of children and families.
